The hell of doing these lists is all the great movies that have to be left off, to the point where I feel like I’m shitting on all your favorites by not including them, and even slighting those in the lower half of my own list.

Send Help is a good mashup of a bunch of things Raimi excels at. Quick zoom-ins on characters’ faces. Exceptionally well-timed jump scares. Practical effects involving copious amounts of bodily fluids.

Is Jason Statham really a box office draw? Statham’s latest film Shelter will provide another data point to that question, whose answer seems to be maybe(?).

That there’s a lot of wind in The Wind is a given. That there’s not a whole lot else, well, that’s a bit harder to take. I was promised a masterpiece of the silent era and received a load of hooey in return.
